Olly Tree Applications is proud to present, USMLE Clinic…. a new app for your USMLE preparation. Our flashcards will provide you with a wealth of information that will help you keep focus on what's important –NOT only for the boards – but also in the clinical setting. Knowing characteristic clinical presentations is essential for any doctor… but likewise, it is also quite helpful to KNOW which findings should NOT be present a.k.a. pertinent negatives. This can increase or decrease your suspicion
of a condition accordingly, before you even consider ordering any tests. And as many conditions can present very similarly, there may be clues to help you differentiate between the two most likely diagnoses. These clues may be subtle, but they are imperative to keeping you on the right track. Once you have an idea about the etiology of the patient’s condition, you may be required to interpret one of several different tests, which may include ECGs, x-rays, lab results, and so forth. At first, this may be somewhat intimidating, but it is actually really easy once you get the hang of it. And finally, patient management. Now the first thing that may come to mind is medication, but really, many patients only need counseling or conservative therapy. And when pharmacologic treatment is required, it can sometimes be tricky deciding between seemingly similar options. Don’t let this fool you though, because most of the time your instinct is correct and shouldn’t fall for some therapeutic option that you haven’t really seen or considered before. The field of medicine is extremely vast and it is simply impossible to learn most of it. So when you study, it helps to keep focus on what you think is important. I hope that you will find these lectures and flashcards to be worth your time. And if you have a moment, go ahead and take a look at our app! New flashcards and features will be added soon. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or recommendations… we would love to hear from you! We wish you all the best and plenty of success on your board exams and in your medical career! Good luck to you all!Disclaimer: All the information provided by USMLE Clinic and associated videos are strictly for informational purposes only; it is not intended as a substitute for medical advice from your health care provider or physician.
