What is Pupillary Distance?Pupillary distance (PD) measures the space between the pupils of your eyes. Knowing this
measurement is important to make sure your eyes match up with the optical center of your lenses. The average adult’s PD is between 54-74; kids' are between 43-54.
Why Is It Important?Every set of prescription lenses has an “optical center,” which is determined by pupillary distance. Pupillary distance is used to determine where you look through the lens of your glasses and should be as accurate as possible.
Measure The Distance:Step 1: Place a standard card credit, gift, etc) with black magnetic stripe facing a camera as shown below.Step 2: Place a front facing camera at arm's length and at eye-level height and take a picture.Step 3: Align the Green lines with arrows to the edges of the magnetic strip.Step 4: Place red crosshairs over center of each pupil and get your PD.Step 5: See you PD on top.
